SUMMARIES OF OFFICIAL DATA. (United Press Association—Copyright.) WASHINGTON, July 29. The United States Navy Department lias published the so-called summaries of comparative naval data., in which Britain leads:
Vessels Building. Another comparative summary gives the comparative list of new vessels being built: Great Britain —5 battleships, 5 air-craft-carriers, 21 light cruisers, 48 destroyers, 10 submarines. United States—2 battleships, 3 air-craft-carriers, 9 light cruisers, bo destroyers, 17 1 heavy cruiser.
Japan—2 aircraft-carriers, 4 light cruisers, 14 destroyers, 3 submarines. The “New York Times,” in a leader, says: “There is no end to this mad race and we earnestly plead with the United States to refuse to be drawn in. ’
