UNPOPULAR PROPOSAL
PUNISHING “ROAD HOGS” LONDON, July 20. A proposal made by Viscount Elibank to punish “road hogs” on the spot and save the court work by empowering the polico to deprive them of their licenses for an hour or two is not supported by motorists’ organisations. These claim that the British temperament is not suited to summary jurisdiction by the police and that the idea violates the first principle of British justice.
