TWELVE MONTHS GAOL
A HOUSE BLOWN UP. x (Per Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. Maurice Moore, who was found guilty of having blown up a house, valued at £SOO, at Stillwater, was to-day sentenced by Mr Justice Northcroft to 12 months’ imprisonment. In passing sentence Mr Justice Northcroft pointed out that prisoner made the crime more serious in that the explosion might have injured anyone who was passing at the time. Had it not been for the jury’s recommendation to mercy and accused’s age, he would probably have been sentenced To two years.
