The Milan correspondent of “The Times” says that an extraordinary surgical operation was earned out by Professor Aldo Defrise on a man aged 52, who suffered from pericarditis. He made an opening between the libs, took hold of the man’s heart, cut the pericardium, removed it, then put the heart back in its place and stitched up the wound.

The operation, which lasted 80 minutes, was completely successful, and the man is now in good health.
