Wool IN THE BALLROOM

(From Our London Correspondent.) © GLAMOROUS satin, qpp taffeta, ethereal net and chiffon, all the lovely materials for evening wear, have a formidable rival this winter in wool. Up to date, Sydney ballrooms have been graced by merely an occasional wool gown, but the Wool Bail this month, with its prize for the best wool evening gown, is expected to launch the fashion in this.city. July, the official coldest month, is being given a lead this year by June, and many girls may be tempted to wear their new wool frocks instead of keeping them for the competition. With snow on the highlands and chili winds making Sydney shiver, this type of frock is ideal for dinner, bridge, the theatre or concert. Added comfort without loss of smartness is obtained when a tailored frock on slim lines has a matching coat.
