FALSE SUSTENANCE PAPERS. (Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, July 30. “This is another instance of a man drawing sustenance under his own name and working on . the wharves under another name,” said tho District Employment Officer when Joseph Stephenson Skinner was charged to-day with three offences by making false statements for the purpose of obtaining benefit under the Unemployment Promotion Act. The defendant wrote pleading guilty. A fine of £5 was imposed on each charge. The Magistrate remarked, in reference to the signature of both names, that the case was bad enough to have been brought under criminal law.
