REMAND GRANTED.

BREAKING AND ENTERING CHARGE. MAYFIELD STORE CASE. (Special to the “ Guardian.”) CHRISTCHURCH, This Day.. A remand till next Thursday was granted by Mr E. C. Levvey, S.M., when Arthur James Sharp, a labourer, aged 26, of Culverden, appeared in the Magistrate’s Court yesterday. Sharp was charged that on March 27 he broke and entered the shop of the National Mortgage and Agency Company, of New Zealand, Ltd., at Mayfield and committed theft. Bail was allowed in self £IOO, with one surety of £IOO. Mr D. W. Russell said that Sharp had a very good character, and he wished to be allowed out on bail, so that he could go back to his work in the country, and thus avoid any possibility of meeting former associates.
