WOMAN ARRESTED.

ALLEGED WOUNDING OF A MAN. (Per Press Association.) WANGANUI, July 29. A search on the Wanganui River to-day near Jerusalem by A force of police directed by Detective-Sergeant J. K. Robertson and Detective J. Murray resulted iii the arrest of a Maori woman, Kathleen Waitoa, aged 38, who is to appear on a charge relating to the wounding of A. E. Davey, a settler, yesterday morning. Davey was found yesterday suffering from a severe wound in. the chest. This morning he was removed to the Wanganui Public Hospital in a St. John ambulance, and hi.s condition is reported now to be comfortable.
