A WINNING BATTLE.
THE LUSITANIA’S TREASURE. An amazing treasure hunt is ?n course of operation off Glandore, the seaside resort near Cork, Ireland, according to the “Sunday Chronicle.” On the bed of the Atlantic a diver is probing the secrets of the great Cunarder Lusitania. Tlie salvage steamer Orpliir is fitted with the latest apparatus for the difficult and dangerous task. Under the tremendous weight of water tho Lusitania is to be blasted asunder, and grabs splashed into the gurgling water to grip her portable cargo and raise it to the surface. Guiding tlio men operating the grabs is Diver A. J. Jarratt, who made history last year, after the Lusitania was discovered, by his claim to ho the first man to go down to a depth of 312 feet in a flexible diving suit. Though alone in tho deptlis, he is in constant ’phone communication with the men on the surface directing them where to place the depth charges by which tho sides of the ship are to he blown out. All through the summer the work will go on, and this time, the experts say, it will he a winning battle.
