ADVANCE ON A FOUR-MILE FRONT.
VILLAGE OF LE SAJIS CAPTURED
LONDON, October 8. Sir Douglas Haig reports:— Co-operating with tho French, wo attacked from the AJbcrt-Bapaumc Road to Los Boaufa. Our line between Cueuiiecourt and Les Bosufs was advanced from 600 to 1000 yards. We captured lo Sara and progressed eastward and wostward thereof. -Aircraft greatly assisted our progress.

North-east of Morval tho new French Line crown.s, the western slopes of the Sailly-Sa-iJlisel ridge, the whole of the liapaumo Road to 200 metres from' Sailly, and thence over Hill 330' tosouth of Bouchavesnes. A great gathering of enemy troops | north of Saillisel was caught in the concentrated lire of our batteries.
