COLONIAL WOOL.
CONTROL BY IMPERIAL GOVERNMENT.
YORKSHIRE PRESS COMMENTS
(Received October 7, 10.55 a.m.) LONDON, October 6. The Yorkshire " Post," in connection with the Army Council's negotiations to secure control of colonial wool, states:— ■" Difficulties have arisen which may cause a modification of the whole plan. It is obvious that sonio scheme should be put into' operation iii relation to all the colonies, but hitherto it has been impossible to arrive at a common agreement. It is unreasonable to expect that Australia I and- New Zealand will quietly submit I to further restrictions if 1 South Africa |is to retain the free market she has possessed sinoc the war commenced. There lias been severe criticism of South Africa's action permitting unrestricted exnort. If South Africa persists in her policy, it is bound to react unfavourably for us in the other \ ! wool-growing colonies." . j
