BOWLING.
METHVE'N CLUB
The amuiai meeting of the Methven Bowling Club was held on Wednesday. There was a fair attendance, and Mr W. H.'Pearcc (president) presided. The treasurer (Mr E. Grover) read the balance-sheet, which showed that the club' 6 indebtedness bad been reduced to some ' £12. The assets amounted to about, £100. Four new , members were elected. , . The election of officers resulted as follows:—Patron, Mr W. Morgan; president, Mr John Stewart; -vice-pre-sident, Dr. McKee; secretary > Mr J. Cooper (re-elected)■■; treasurer, Mr E. Grover (re-elected); auditor, Mr W. J. Percy; delegate to Centre, Mr S. Smith; committee, Messrs iB. Roll, .tames Beattie, and W. H. Hvnan. The president and Mr James Beattie were appointed green superintendents. The Rev. G. K. Aitken wrote offering a gold medal for the member scoring the highest number of points during the ensuing season, the scoring to be according to the position of the bowls to the jack. A hearty vote of thanks was accorded Mr Aitken for his prize. The trophies won last season were then presented by the president as follows: —;
Handicap Singles.—E. Grovor (suit case) 1, JB. Holl (bowl bag) 2. Championship Singles—W. H. Poarcc (pair bowls). Championship Pairs —W. H. Pcarce and Rev. Aitken (trophy).
