Mr and Mrs Edward E. Bax, of Woodond, received word on Saturday that their eldest son. I'rivato Charles Bax, was wounded in the left hip on September 20, and admitted to hospital. Ho -was born at Ashburton. On leaving school he was employed by Mr G. Hefford, draper. Six months later he entered the employ of. Mr R. D. Johnston, motor expert., Ashburton, and enlisted while with that firm. He was'2o years of ;>g<; last birthday, and loft with the Twelfth Reinforcements. , , Private Gordon Cheyne a w.aß the youngest son of Mrs Cheyne, of Prince Edward Road, South ( Dunedin, and prior to enlisting was associated with Mr A. Pringle, the well-known Ashburtou racing and trotting enthusiastj and enlisted at tho end of 1915. An elder brother of deceased was killed during tho occupation of GallipoK, and his people were unable to obtain full particulars of his death in action. Mrs Cheyne. has lost three "sons during the past threti years\ and groat sympathy is expressed with her find her daughter in their biwavcniout.^
