HAYWARD'S PICTURES
Tho present screening at His Majes- j ty's Theatro contains a very extensive ( and interesting selection of war pic-, turos. Tho Gaumont Graphic deals | with various phases of the war zone, , and shows activity in the trenches •and \ big' guns in action. The Pathe Ga-J zette shows tho mobilisation and training of troops for the front. A particularly interesting picture was the testing of 'motor cycles before they are taken over by tho military authorities. The machines are shown being tested over very rough country.. A quaint animal s,tudy was presented in ''Tin; Adventures of Sally," when the antics of a. trained monkey are highly amusing. The loading film is "The Derby Winner," by the London Film Company. The picture, which is a military drama, is full of episodes of sporting' life, and shows how the fortunes" of an earl depended on the winning of a Derby. The element of bribery is also introduced, making many excitin«- scenes, until eventually the restoration of the earl's fortunes takes place. The programme will be screened again this evening. ,
