WORLD'S RECORD ESTABLISHED

NEW YORK, October 1. The Astor Cup Motor Race was won bj\, Aitkon in a French Peugeot. Ho^ covered 250 miles, at an average of 104 miles an hour—a world's record.

(The previous record was held by Da. Palmer, who drove a Mercedes car 200 miles in 2hr 47min 6sec in 1915. Aitken's speed works out at 2hr 24'min 13.85uc.)
