A TERRIBLE SEHBO-BULGAR STRUGGLE.

Mr Calvort, who witnessed tho Bul;y garian attempt to recapture Kaymakehatau, writes,.: — _ i The commander did not use 'artillery, , but attacked at night with troops well I primed with raw spirits. Their im- ; petuous rush carried the first line and j wiped out the occupants, but tho remaining Serbians held firm and mow- i ed down the intoxicated Bulgarians' first wave as it readied the trenches. For throe hours there was the most i horrible fighting, the trenches being taken and fe-tafcen, but the Serbs ! finally winning. . ' Sunrise revealed a scene of bestial and savage slaughter. The ground between the first and second lines was covered with corpses, and it was impossible to step without trampling on them. Orio thousand Serbs and 2000 Bulgars were killed. Wounded Serbian officers were massacred.
