Virgo, National Meld Secretary.for tho V.M.C.A., is to visit Ashburton to-morrow for the purpose of mating, an appeal for funds for^the erection of hutments'' for soldieis at the ■ front. The splendid work tho V.M.C.A. has done amongst tho soldiers will, wo are sure, appeal to ovoryone, and we believe Mr Virgo's appeal in Ashburton' will have- very satisfactory results., it has boon suggested that AshburtoH" ishould raise,,sufficient funds to build, i equip and maintain- a hutment,; to J>e known as V/rliovMajbr ..Childs Hutment," in memory of a brave man known and respected by every member of the community.' The cost of a hut--mrnt is -CGOO, which includes £150 for ii \c,u's upkeep.
