Sir Charley Cayx-i-r was born at London on July 15, i.B-J3. He was the bond of the firm .of Messrs Cay/.or, Irvine and Co., Ltd., steamship owners, IjOiidon, Liverpool, Manchester, and Glasgow He was lion. Colonol of the 3rd Lowland Brigade, R.F.A., M.P., for Barrow-in-Furness 1892-1906, the first Conservative elected for Barrow and Monmouth district, 1910. Ho was created a baronet in 1904. In 1902 one daughter married Admiral Sir John Jellicoo, and in 1905 another married Rear-Admiral Chas. Edward Madden.
