LONDON, September- 29. Mr' Braun, writing from Transylvanian Headquarters, statos that tho Russo-Roumanians from September 16 to 20, underwent a severe ordeal. Violent' attacks, supported by heavy artillery, wore made, on the 17th, on tho right flank at Rahova, -where the enemy obviously attempted t^ break through towards Ccruavada, dnd cut the communications. The situainon was most ci-itical on the 18th, and'on the l&th renewed desperate attempts woro made on the right flank and centre, but reinforcemeats enabled a. successful counter-attack to 1)« made. '.Hie situation in now not critical; l.he lino is solid, and tlie enemy urn compelled to adopt a jjassive enti^'nchotl defensive.
