OVER 600,000 MEN

(Received September 30, 8.50 a.m.) PARIS, September 29. A. semi-official report states:— On the Somme the enemy have thrown 300 battalions against the British and 312 against tho French, of which G7 are new diyisions.

A German battalion is-composed- of 1000 men.
