BOROUGH SCHOOL MATTERS.

To tuk KmiiiH " Guiudian." Sir, —Your, correspondent' H. M. Jones still appears to bo taking the site question very seriously, and, as his ideas of what constitutes a lowlying section have never coincided, with j the committee's, little need therefore be said beyond the fact that the question of site can well be left with; the Education Department to deal with. Should the Department decide to build on either of the present sites, and if in years to come it should happen that the school has been erected on the wrong site, then it can never be said that the committee of 1916 made no attempt to have, the new school erected where ,it would: serve the district for years to come. The matter is. of small j moment to. the committee,;, it having handed tho whole thing over to the l>oard some months ago. ?,-.I have-not. the slightest ambition to enter into any .newspaper^' controversy, but, in fairness to the committeemen whose re-election Mr .Jones still,; wants to take exception to; I must state for

his information that-these-gentlemen's re-election is perfectly in order; the committee certainly did .re-elect them, having been guioled by instructions received from the board. Before rushing into print it would be well if Mr Jones made himself conversant with a few facts, and, without wishing to be personal, I think Jic would be well advised to stop harping on the question and leave the wholo -business to the Minister, whose decision should bo.final'to all parties coiire'rned. V. CHILLIER.
