A STEAMER ASHORE.

AUCKLAND, Sept. 27. Advieo was received this morning that tho steamer" Albany had drifted a-sbore near Muriwai Creek, on tho west const, about 20 miles north of Manukau. Sho is a small vessel^ and is well-known in Auckland, having been engaged for some time in tho Auck-land-Albany trade. Tho steamer .was proceeding' to Tuakaii, WaikatOj and her engines were giving trouble for some time. It is stated that they broke down and the Albany drifted to the shore. Ib is thought that she has not been damaged.
