ASHBURTON COUNTY WAR RELIEF FUND.
A meeting of .'the Executive Committee of the society administering this fund was bold in the Borough Council Chambers las-t evening. Present:—The Mayor, Mr li. Galbraith (in the chair), Messrs D; Wood, W. H. Collins, F. Ferriman, T. Hayes, A. McClure, and C. W. Nicoll (hon. sec).
A Us tof promised subscriptions was placed before the committee, showing over £1600 still outstanding. The secretary reported that he had during the last month circulated those whose names wore on the list, but the response had been very disappointing. After discussion. tho secretary was instructed to make a further ap-. peal. ■. The ftuefition of attendance on> discharged -soldiers was brought iip, and it: was decided to ask the' Minister, for. Public Health, bfr information, on the subject. ' , It was resolved to hold the annual meeting oi! subscribers on Saturday, October 28.
