WAIHI MINERS' WAGES.
AUCKLAND, September 20
I The Arbitration Court gave its award in tho Waihi miners' dispute this morning. . Mr Justice Hosking said that the only substantial question was tho minimum rate of wages of various classes of workers. The majority of the Court came to the conclusion, having regard to the fact, that heavy burdens had been imposed on tho "mining industry as the result of the war in the: shape of increased taxation and high prices of 0,1 l classes of materials, as urged by the employers, they could not properly grant any genera] increase of wages. They considered, however, that some assistance should ho given to the lowest-paid workers, r.rul this had I men done. Mr •T. A. MeCuliovgh, workers' representative, dissented fro") the derision of the majority of the. Court, holding that nil workers should have been grunted increased wages.
