ENEMY SHAREH OLDERS
To THE , EWTOB '' GUABDIAW."
Sir,—Would you kindly inform /me what our position is regarding the firms that have-been gazetted as having .Gorman shareholders? If we owe them money, :ue wo to pay the Government or the individual firms? Why is tho Government so weak-kneed as to. allow any ■ German (naturalised or otherwise-) any lammier" What-' are they doing to our kith and kin in the Motherland? Do they study our women and children with their Zeppelins? "Well, why in the name of fortune do we allow those firms (some, under '.British titles) to trade here and help buy shot and shell to blow us our., of existence? When are we to,get out of our sleepy ways and compel thoGovernment to intern all alienenemies? Tnisting some abler p0.».----thaji mine will take this matter up.
"BRITISHER."
[We hare had to omit several lines[, (from this letter.. The position with re-^ gard to money owing to these firms isnot affected by the Gazette -notice, which merely provides. that the shares held by enemies in the two companies, shall be vested in the Custodian of Enemy Property.r—Editor - "Guard--dan-"] . . ■'
