SIEVE GRIP MOTOR.
TRIAL AT ANAMA
A most successful trial- ol: the Sieve | Agri motor was held on Air l'"j tawson's farm, " laucoln Melds," Anama, on Monday afternoon, at which, were a large number oi farmers from the surrounding district. The agent put the motor through very interesting and useful work. Five furrows Were attached to the motor, and, notwithstanding that the ground to be ploughed had not been ploughed for 17 years, it went away with them as though it had no load. The demonstrator explained the simplicity oi working the motor and the great ease with which it can bo worked. After the ploughing, the machine was then attached to. two sets of Duncan harrows, with the full set on, and on the loose ground which had already been worked, went away with the greatest of ease. , A great feature of the machine appears to be the wheels, which are of the siere, or .skeleton, type,, and give the machine a great grip without the drawback of packing or pressing down the soil. This was particularly noticeable when working the ground which had already been worked. Though tho motor went away with the two seta of discs, which keep 10 horses occupied, with only its ordinary wheels, extension wheels of the same type are provided, which enable the load and weight to.be distributed over a large surface, and which leave really next to no mark on the ground. Those present were very pleased with the demonstration, and most were agreed that the Agri motor had pome to stay; though with farmers prejudice generally dies hard. One farmer stated that he was satisfied that tho horse was doomed.
