LONDON, September 22. The Canadians took a brilliant share in'tho battlo of September 15. They forced back the Germans tor over a mil©' and captured Mouquct farm. After a desperate resistance they carried the sugar refinery and then advanced and captured the whole viUago of Gourcolette.-i Altogether; they -took' prisoner 1200 men, including 32 ° So* artillery barrage was advanced before the Canadians) stage by stage with remarkable precision. The infantry moved forward in successive waves, and directly the first lino of the German trenches were secured tho assaulting waves pressed on. ■ n In their midst were several armoured cars. The Germans were powerless to stop the cars, which assisted materially in silencing the ,machmc SSTSd ™ enfilading the enemy trenches. The attack was so successful that 1 it was decided to press on to Courcelotte and Mouquet Farm. Within 12 hours the Canadians captured .the whole of a depth of from 1000 to 9000 yards despite the fact that the SSb were fighting with the courage of despair..
