HEAVY ARTILLERY WORK.
MUCH DAMAGE DONE

Sir Douglas Haig reports :— We continue to improve our positi- ' southward of the) Ancre, and; are pushing detachments into tho ; enemy's advanced trenches.
During Friday's bombardment 10 enemy gun-pits were, destroyed and 14 severely damaged. Five ammunition pits were also exploded. To-day our artillery caused a big lire in a village which is largely used for transport supplies. Fifty aeroplanes successfully raided an important railway junction and did much damage, including the destruction of two ammunition trains.
Other successful raids were made on railway works and aerodromes.
