A FAVOURABLE OUTLOOK
GERMAN DEJECTION IN-
CREASING
ALLIES BLASTING THEIR WAY TO
THE MEUSE
(Received September 25, 9.15 a.m.) LONDON, September 24. Colonel Repington, in a review of the war position, says it is favourable to the Allies.
."There is," ho says, " indisputable evidence that the blockade is severely affecting Germany internally. The Allied hammering on the Somme is increasing national dejection, and other causes of anxiety are the war loan and the constant shifting of troops from all fronts to repair deficiencies. When the veil is lifted, it will" show that Germany has suffered greater misery .and losses in men, money, ships, aiid ! credit than can possibly be imagined.
4'The Allies, who are methodically blasting their way towards the Meuse, have encountered and overthrown nearly half of the ' German Western divisions, tho failures to recover the lost ground demonstrating the enemy's inferiority. •
"The Western pressure,is advei-soly affecting Hindenburg's Eastern pla-is. 3'
