A TUBE LEADING TO SEA

(Received September 25, 1.45 p.m.) LONDON, September 24.

Salonica reports the discovery in the jEgean of a large oil depot. War vessels encountered a tube connecting with an underground cement-lined chamber containing an enormous quantity of oil. It is alleged that the constructors were Greek merchants at Piraeus, who have recently grown wealthy from unknown sources.
