DUNEDIN, September 22. Sir George McLean has 'resigned his position as president of the Duncdin •Jockey Club, which he has filled for 33 years, because, despite his protest, the majority of the committee persisted in placing eight races on the winter programme. When the Gaming Bill was before the Council ho had given an assurance that this would not be done, and the action of the Dunedin Jockey Club Committee was opposed to jiis pledge as a member of the Legislature..
