CONSCRIPTION ISSUE.
MEETING OF OPPONENTS
(Received September 23, 9.10 a.m.) SYDNEY, September 23.
The anti-conscription campaign was opened-in the Town Hall last night. The hall was packed, and there was a big overflow meeting in tho street. Mr Finlayson and several Federal members were the chief speakers. The proceedings were orderly, and resolutions were carried against conscription for service abroad, and'pledging those present to use every lawful means to prevent the carrying of the referendum.
