Tho "Frankfurter Zeitung " states: "By the battle of the Somine, the Allies desire to draw tho German troops from the south-eastern theatres. We advise the General Staff not to hold what ia not worth holding. Villages and long-maintained positions are being lost, but even greater shortenings of the Western front would benefit the general situation."
