A LYNNFORD SEND-OFF.

Tho largest gathering in tho histpry of the Lynnf'ord School met on Monday oveninn, to bid good-bye to Messrs D. Buttenck and K. Haines, who are leaving with the Twenty-first Reinforcements. There w.ert> over 100 peoplo inside, .and many more outside who, were dutiable to get in. Lynnford's youiig men luive. responded well to tho call of duty, and there are very few left of military age in the district. Mr A. Mooro occupied the chair, and in the courso of the evening, in an appropriate spooeh, presented each of the recruits with a silver wristlet watch,. suitably inscribed. A long and enjoyable programme was 4iven. -Miss K. Parsons played two pianoforte polos, Mr and Mrs Hepburn sane;; a, duet, and songs were given by Mrs Willis, 'Misses Shaw, Smith, Holland, and C. Dell; Messrs Evans, Hepburn, Ait!ce:i, J. Buttorick, and McIjcan. T'!;o latter was enthusiastically enoored, and had to respond several times. Recitations were also given by Arnold Evans, Bella Doll, and Mr J. Butterick. Tho evening was brought to a, close by-the singing of "Auld Long Syno." ;1 hearty vote of thanks was accorded to those* per formers who had come from a. distance and helped to make the evening a success.
