There was good competition for prime sorts at prices ruling. a fortnight ago, buyers operating for, Oa.ma.ru and Christchurch, and prices improved slightly as theV'SaUKadvanced. Values generally were about £1 lower" than last week's rates. Best bullocks £18 to £20/ i extras prime £24 2s 6d, medium £15 to £17, light and un-. finished £12 10s to £14, best-cows £12: 10s to £14, extra heavy £15 7s 6d;.. medium £9 to £12.
Fat Sheep.—Three., thousand and fifty were penned, a.Jarge proportion, light and unfinished. Butchers wero bidding well, and bought all the best sheep. Grazjers and dealers secured" light and unfinished.. Prices wero much on a par with last week's rates, but wvro inclined to recede. Best wethers -^ L to 3Ss. extra prime heavy -iSs, nvdimn 29s to 32s 6d, light and" nnfurniahed 2-"si upwards, best owes 2vss to JiOs. extra heavy 36s 3d, others' 20s upwards. Lambs.-r-The first consignment- of the season was forward, realising 28s to 30s. , '' Pigs.—A small yarding sold much onn par with last week's nigh rates. Only- a few stores wero forward.. These sold'well. ' "
