FRUITGROWERS' FEDERATION.

WELLINGTON, Sept: 19

The New Zealand Fruitgrowers' Federation, Ltd., ivhidi has been in conference during past week, de-: ciding on its policy for improving conditions for both fruitgrower and consumer, has appointed Mr F. J. Shelton as its secretary and general" manager. Mr.Shelton, who has been residenfrin the Dominion since 1879, was for many years managing partner of the firm of Common, Shoiton and Co., at Gisborne, and was the originator of the Gisborne Freezing Company, both of which concerns have been developed into very sucessful undertakings. He was later selected by tho New Zealand Producers' Association to visit London to endeavour to get better attention paid to New Zealand produce at the other end.
