DEATH OF LIEUT. ASQUITH.
LONDON, September 18. Raymond Asquith was killed ,on September IG.
The Premier and Mrs .Raymond Ascpiith have been the ' recipients of hundreds of messages of sympathy. Raymond was a most brilliant athlete, barrister;, and scholar. On the outbreak of war he gave up a rich 1 practice to take a commission in the Queen's Westminsters, and later in th» Grenadier Guards. His only son' wasborn in April last. Lieutenant R-aymphd Asquith; of the Grenadier Guards, , was ,Mr Asquith's 1 eldest son. He was born on November 6, 1878, and married in 1907 a dauchter of Sir John Homer. ,'.After a brilliant course at Oxford ho was called to tlifBar. He was junior counsel for. Great Britain in the North Atlantic" "fisheries arbitration case at The Hague, and junior counsel for the Inland Revenue Department.
