SIR DOUGLAS HAIG'S REPORT,
(Received September 19, 11.50 a.m.) LONDON, September 18. . Sir Douglas Haig reports:— , Tho general situation is unchanged. We improved our position northward of Martinpuich. Our minor attacks laat night eastward of Courcellette wore entirely successful, and we appreciably advanced our line. , ■ The Germans entered a trench westward of Mouquet Farm, under cover of a heavy shelling, but our counter- j attack immediately drove them out. i We took a further portion of the enemy's trench system southward of Thiepval. The Germans, at intervals during the night, heavily shelled varijous points. •
