Tinwald Town Board.

The monthly meeting of the Tinwald Town Board was held on Friday, February 24. Present—Messrs M. Redoisyno (chairman), E. Gates, T. William*, and J. Gudsell. COKKKSPOJKDKMCE. From D. J. Hickman, requesting that his name be put on lh« valuation roll for 100 40. —Alteration ordered to be made. From J. Wills, making application to have Mr J. Hampton's name inserted in valuation • < 1 in lieu of his own.—Alteration ordu.oi to be made. From Temperance Hall Company, refusing to reduce rent of hall.—Consideration deferred. GENERAL BATE. Mr Gates proposed— "That public notice be given that it is the intention of the Board to h trike and levy a general rate of one half-penny in the £ on the rateable value of the whole of the property in the Tinwald town district for the period commencing on the Ist day of April, 1892, and ending on the 31at day of March, 1893, payable in one Bum on the third day of April, 1893, and that the rate book is open for inspection at Mean* 0. E. Fooks and Son's Office, Bullock's Arcade, Ashburton.' — Carried. GOKSE NUISANCE. Action was ordered to be taken against several occupiers whose gone was en< croaching on the roads. Members slated that several fences 'were in a shameful state. RATE OOLIXCTOB. Ife was resolved that in future the rate collector should attend at the Board's office, Tinwald, on the last Friday ia every month, between the hours of 7 'p.m. and 8 p.m., for the purpose of receiving rates. . postal. Mr Redmayne said he had been asked by ratepayers to take steps to induce the Government to have a daily delivery throughout the district. ' It was decided to take steps with a view to obtaining this requirement. WORKS. Works of a minor nature were discussed and ordered to be done. ACCOUNTS. Accounts amounting to £1 17s were passed for payment, and the meeting j adjourned.
