CHRISTCHURCH WOOL SALES.
The last of this season's sales, of wool at Christchurch was completed early yesterday afternoon. 2200 bales were oflered, the bulk of which was disposed of at satisfactory prices. The wool was chiefly ordinary merino station clips, and some coarse lots of cross and halfbred, many of these being Chatham Island produce. Prices for ordinary merino ranged from 6d to 7d, and, in the case of one bright clip, from Mr H. Brcttargh's Worlingham flock, up to 7|d was obtained. Farmers' heavy short merinos brought 4£d to s|d ; locks, up to 3d. What little halfbred wool was offered bi ought from 6|d to B|d, the latter price being given for clean bright wool. Chatham Island halfbred wool brought 5Jd to 7d ; pieces, 2|d to 4Jd ; locks, lsd to 2d. Scoured first pieces brought up to Is l|d ; scoured pieces to Is o|d ; thirds to 9|d; scoured locks up to lOd. Altogether the sale compared favorably with the preceding one.
