Wellington, February 7. The Inspector of Mines has forwarded to Lhe Minister a full report upon the auriferous reefs at Wilson's River, Preservation Inlet, and on the works in progress there. No stone is visible where gold can be seen in any flf the other claims, but there has been no work dope to test the reef. The lode exposed pn (the spuj:h 'ajide ©f the river is different frouj that on the north side. The best stone on the south Bide is near the surface, and one foot on tlje wall side Of the lode, yhereas on the north side the rich band qf stone is on the hangjng waU I aide, and should this band ran fop some distance it will yield a large quantity of gold.
