A few days ago (ays " Mercutio" in the " Auckland Herald ") a curious incident occurred on a road near Auckland. A lady and gentleman had been at a party at the house of a citizen residing in the suburbs. Dancing had been kept up till an early hour. Then the lady and gentleman got into their buggy and took the way towards their home, which was further in the country. They both fell sound asleep and the horse, perceiving the condition of affairs, stopped and fell asleep too. As the day dawned one of the sleepers was aioused to the comicality of the position. The couple haye incurred no small amount of banter from their friends.
