A claim, has been made against the Newton Borough Council, under the Contractors' and Workmen's Lien Act, for wages due to three men engaged on an earthwork contract let by fche Council. The contractor states the men are n I fourteen days in arrears with wages. The matter was referred to the Legal Committee.
