Hampstead Town Board.
The ordinary meeting of thd Hampstead Town Board was held on Monday evening. Present — Messrs Andrews, Tanker, Macpherson, Rickman, and Orr. An apology from Mr Crooks, the Chairman, was received for absence en account of ill-health, and Mr Andrews was elected to preside. The County Council wrote stating their willingness to allow the Board £30 on account of expenditure on the Great South road. The Council also stated that they did not see their way to increase the slaughter-house license fees. The Rev. A. M. Beattie wrote regarding gerse on South street, which had caught fire and burned his fences. He asked the Board to clear the gorse. The Board decided to see that the owners on the other side of the road clear then' gorse, and also that Mr Beattie clear his own. , , Payment of £5 10s lOd accrued thirds on reserve 1261 was advised by the Raceiver of Land Revenue. Resolved that the Works Committee inspect the reserve with a view to further improvement, and also report on the state of the South road, and inquire as to the letting of certain reserves. The Committee's report on street naming was approved, and the Clerk was instructed to place the names on the map. The Ranger was instructed to take steps to enforce registration ot dogs after February 28. This was all the business of importance.
