EXHIBITION TRIAL OF REAPERS AND BINDERS.
An open extubltloa trial of reaping and binding mtohinfea took place yesterd.y on the farm of Mr J. Strfngfellow, Chf ttsay. The MoOomlck was dtawu by three honei, the B^aatfo?d sad Maaiey eaoh by two horses A plot of ryo, about 4ft Gin high, green and rather light and a good deal blowo about by the winds, was firci attacked, and tn It the Btantford did conspicuously good work, tbe canvas of the Mflsaey being too narrow for the high orop, and tbe McOotmtok beirg scarcely In perfeot working order. Some green oats, about 2ft Gin high end a moderate orop, were then tried, and thet • the Massey did excellent work, an extra fork attached to the picker by aSr Parsobß assisting Id taming oat very neatsheavti The Brantford also clld good work, running very smoothly, and. Its width of cut, coup'ed with its light draught, was regarded as a strong point In Its favor. Mr R. Friedlander, of Messrs Frladlander Bros., the New Zealand agents, and Mr Armstrong, the expert, wece In attendance upon the Maisey, and tha local agent, Mr Qatne, was present poshing the oialma of the Brantford, Mr Stringfellow provided a. snsok of soon home made bread, butter, and cheese as Is not often tamed, wlin beverages suited to all tastes; and It may be noted that the orops were in suoa oluat* and tegalar condition as to speak to the exoallence of the farming, Tbe high wind, however, was agaioat perfect work being done by tliemaohlni.
