Twij; hundred of the General Post Office employees are down with the disease, and some of the cases are very bad. The influenza is becoming more prevalent, and some of the cases are of a mild Russian type. There is a great run on the hospitals, doctors, and druggists. Postmen, policemen, and occupants of the training schools and barracks bave all been attacked by the influenza, which is ; now spreading to several of the country towns. The mortality in Paris anjl the French provinces, Vienna and j Madrid, has been heavy. Out of 1200 women employed in a French tobacco | factory, only fifty bave been able to continue work. London, January 5. The Empress Augusta, Dr Dolenmer (? Dollinger) of Bavaria and the Right Hon Henry Chaplin, Minister of Agriculture, have been attacked with influenza, |
