J. G. Blame. the American Secretary of State, has publicly denied that America is co-operating with England m forcing Portugal's hand. In reply to an address from Oporto, Seohor Gomes, Minister of Foreign Affairs, stated that he is hqpeftil of an amicable settlement of the dispute between England an d Portugal.
