A CARELESS SMOKER.
Paris, December 20. A terrible explosion occurred on board a ship m Rouen harbor yesterday. A sailor who was smoking, let fall some sparks from his pipe, the result being that the fire was communicated to sixteen hundred tons of petroleum which were on board. A terrific explosion occurred. Several deaths were caused) and everything m the vicinity of the vessel was wrecked. The damage is estimated at 800,000 francs.
