The New Zealand Shipping Company's general meeting evoked aa animated discussion. The report was adopted. Messrs Dangelly, Westrayi and Dawes were re-elected directors. Mr Johnson moved an amendment to the motion for adoption of the report censuring the Board for putting Mr Dawes into such a position as to leave the Company at the mercy of the Shaw, Saville and Albion Company. Sir Jno. Gorst having replied the report was , adopted by a large majority. Mr ' Dawes, m explanation, said his assist--1 ance stopped a breach and saved the Company.
