THE PARNELL COMMISSION.
Tbe speech of Sir Henry James before the •« Times "-Parnell Commission is generally regarded as much abler than that of his colleague Sir R. C. Webster, Attorney-GeneraL Sir Henry James said m the course of his speech, that the Irish people would ultimately despise their leaders for their connection with the Clan-na-Gael and the League, and declared that the charges made by the " Times" against Parnell had been absolutely proved. He concluded amidst applause. Sir James Hannen said the Judges hoped the result of the Commission would be to vindicate the truth, and trusted they would be able to put matters at issue plainly to the sight of all men,
